Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a new mobile app that prioritizes minimizing guest contacts. The tool, which is available for both iOS and Android, allows check-in and checkout from the user’s phone at nearly 6,000 economy and midscale hotels in the US and offers other in-stay features.

The app’s other features include Lightning Book, which enables searching and booking a hotel in as few as three taps, and digital room key, coming later this year to select resorts and available more broadly over the next 12 months.

Wyndham promises the app will create “an immersive experience” with personal touches and the ability to anticipate and adapt to users’ real-time needs based on where they are and what they want to do.

The features include:

• an in-stay mode, which provides information most relevant to the guest, such as front desk texting and local attractions

• my app passport, allowing guests to track their engagements with stamps, animations and more; special offers for current and future stays

• account management, including the ability to easily update Wyndham Rewards member profiles, add methods of payment, purchase points and more.
